Dr. Brown is a Family Medicine Assistant Professor and a hospitalist at Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC. She holds an MD degree from Wake Forest and an MPH from Harvard, with a focus on health policy. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and licensed by the North Carolina Medical Board.
As an educator and an advocate, Dr. Brown is passionate about addressing racism and implicit bias in medicine, ending black maternal health disparities, and supporting diversity and inclusion in medicine. She has received multiple awards for her teaching excellence and leadership, and has published and presented on various topics related to health equity and social justice. After experincing her own pregnancy postpartum complications, she founded BirthRight Inc. as a means to educate Black Birthing persons through grassroots efforts and community outreach.
